Define Griffith’s point.
Watershed anastomosis between ascending left colic artery and marginal artery of Drummond; near splenic flexure

Marks the origin of the last sigmoid artery branch of the IMA
Usually forms anastomosis with branch of superior rectal artery
What is Glisson’s capsule?
Layer of connective tissue around the liver, ducts, and arteries
Serves to protect the liver and allow for fluid exchange and cell migration
Named after Francis Glisson, an English physician and anatomist who first described the capsule in 1654
What is the Ligament of Treitz?
Thin band of tissue that separates the upper and lower GI
Marks end of duodenum and start of jejunum
Where is Palmer’s point?
Area in LUQ; 3 cm below costal margin at midclavicular line
